about
This is a piano and vocal demo of a song I wrote about dealing with postpartum depression. I'm not sure what to do with it, but it does make me emotional when I listen back to it, so I thought I might share it so that others dealing with mental health issues might find it and perhaps understand its deeper meaning.
lyrics
Take The Pill
Music and lyrics by Jes Hudak
Give me time, give me space
Give me something I can taste,
I feel like I'm wasting away.
Who am I anymore, don't recognize my own face,
Been searching the mirror for days.
But I can feel it burning deep inside of me,
I know that I can make it through this.
Just can't remember what I was supposed to be.
'Cause I can't live like this
Like I'm losing my mind
I'll take the pill, I'll take the dive,
Try anything to make it right.
When breathing doesn't come easy
Count to ten, close my eyes.
I'll take the pill, I'll take the dive,
Try anything to make it right.
Everything to everyone, when is my day done,
I'm falling asleep on my feet.
Feeling selfishly about my basic needs,
Should I just give up?
But I can feel it burning deep inside of me,
I know that I can make it through this.
Just can't remember what I was supposed to be.
'Cause I can't live like this
Like I'm losing my mind
I'll take the pill, I'll take the dive,
Try anything to make it right.
When breathing doesn't come easy
Count to ten, close my eyes.
I'll take the pill, I'll take the dive,
Try anything to make it right.
I'll take the pill, I'll take the dive
So tired of being tired,
Gotta pull myself up out of this.
I'll take the pill, I'll take the dive,
It's time to pull myself out.
'Cause I can't live like this
Like I'm losing my mind
I'll take the pill, I'll take the dive,
Try anything to make it right.
When breathing doesn't come easy
Count to ten, close my eyes.
I'll take the pill, I'll take the dive,
Try anything to make it right.
